Accommodation at Emerald Beach
There are still some campsites left at Emerald Beach Holiday Park. If
you are a team or even just coming to the event to check it out, don't
leave your accommodation booking until the last. (www.ebhp.com.au) You
may need to contact them directly as we have a group booking for all the
sites and they may not show up as available on the website. If you would

New Mountain Bike Stage Race in 2008 - Alps Epic
The high country will become a Mountain biking mecca as hundreds of riders
descend on the Snowies for the inaugural Alps Epic in March 2009.The staged
mountain bike race will be held over 5 days including 8 stages. Each day
will start in a new town within the region. The course will include some
of the countries best mountain bike trails. The tracks will be a combination
of new and existing single track and fire trails in the Kosciuszko National
Park and surrounding areas. The area is famous for its mountains, rivers,
lakes and stunning scenery.
This annual event will “tour” the Snowy Mountains Region.
Each day will comprise one or two stages before participants continue
on to a new town (or “overnight stop”) for the night. Stages
will range from short 8km time trails to longer 60km marathon legs. Stages
and host towns will be announced six months before the event. Riders will
be able to choose to bring their own support crew or have the race organisers
move their bike and equipment at the end of each stage to the start of
the next stage or overnight stop (unsupported package).
Full event details will be available from the event website www.alpsepic.com.au
when it is launched on 30th May 2008.
The event will be a run by Summit Events a joint venture of Geocentric
