Insomnia 24hr Mountain Bike Festival - Update

RACE ELEMENTS - Providing Excellence in Personal Training
VEROFIT – Sports Nutrition Specialist

Full Steam Ahead

Event preparations are in full swing now with organisers planning to accommodate up to 500 riders and as many more family and general public for the weekend. As well as a great 24hr mountain bike race, there is a line up of 5 great bands to play throughout the weekend. While there will be plenty of competitive riders, you can’t ask for a better opportunity for a socially paced mountain bike race. The track has plenty of passing opportunities so is ideal for riders of all levels, particularly if you are just out to do a lap now and then and listen to the music. It is family friendly and a great place to come camping for the weekend.

Entries Closing Soon!

John Harvey Memorial Trophy

Some of you will have heard the sad news last year that John Harvey was killed in a motor vehicle accident on his way to be part of the organising team of the XPD Expedition Race. John was integral to planning and building a lot of the track for the first Insomnia race. He will also be easily remembered by those at the event as the “bunny” on the first lap. John dressed as a rabbit and headed off ahead of the riders on the first lap, whoever caught him won a prize! The rabbit tradition will continue and so too John’s memory through the John Harvey Memorial Trophy.
