Mountain Designs GeoQuest - 48hr Adv Race
Australia's Premier Adventure Race |
 |
Once again the Mountain Designs GeoQuest is shaping up to be the grand final of adventure racing in the country in 2010. Early bird entries have seen a huge number of teams signing up, including registrations from New Zealand, Japan and even a team from Kazakhstan!
Mountain Designs GeoQuest is going to Port Macquarie in 2010 - an adventure playground that we have rarely seen the likes of! The race course this year will see a more linear format taking teams on an exhilarating and exhausting journey of the Port Macquarie coast and hinterland. Cleverly though the course has been designed to consider support crews but still retain a journey aspect.
Important Notice: After 8 years on the Queens Birthday weekend,
the dates for 2010 have been changed to 20-23 August. This
was due to an unavoidable clash with the XPD Expedition race.
2011 dates are expected to return to the Queens Birthday weekend.

Hells Bells - Fairy Bells
Of Saturday morning that is my only success... |
 |
Our bike drop went off with-out a hitch and left me feeling confident that I could memorise a google map and find my way to a location. Of Saturday morning that is my only success, everything else I screwed up in a right-royal fashion. Some tips to fellow newbies, don’t be the only one who can read a map on the team, the pressure is intense from the moment you receive your race instructions. Greg had explained to put the race instruction onto the map and then laminate them to save going between the two...
