Mountain Designs GeoQuest - 48hr Adv Race
Biggest Field Ever!
|
 |
|
The biggest field ever to attend the Mountain Designs GeoQuest, including two
high profile New Zealand teams, found themselves neck deep
in adventure with the race tackling both the Barrington Tops
and Great Lakes near Forster. Billed as the most adventurous
course to date, teams took away memories of a lifetime including
a massive 1000m mountain bike descent, a remote trek through
the Bowman River gorge, another mtb descent from the clouds
through open grazing paddocks, a strategically challenging
mtb/trek adventuregaine, a rock climb, a raft crossing, and
the list keeps going!
Congratulations to all competitors and support crew! Particular
mention goes to the overall race winners Team Dude Where's
my Bruno of Richard Mountstephens, Sam Maffet, Katrin Van
der Spiegel and Kris Plain. Second place was last year's winners
Team APEX and third was Team Austrelaps. Winners of the All
Female category were the New Zealand Girls on Top team. The
male category was taken out by team Echo. In the Geo-Half,
Entropic won the mixed category, Flash Barry's Fan Club the
males and Chooks on the Loose the All Females.
Organisers would like to thank the generous support of the
event sponsors, Mountain Designs, VeroFit, UltraFit magazine,
Rock Up Adventures and the Barrington Outdoor Adventure Centre. |
