About Geocentric Outdoors
Geocentric Outdoors is one of Australia’s most experienced outdoor event management companies, specialising in planning, logistics, safety, and delivery for events of all sizes. Since 2002, we’ve directed everything from global expedition races and world championships to cycling festivals, community fundraisers, and retreats.
What does that mean for you? We’re flexible partners who can jump in to manage a specific element of your event — whether it’s permits, safety, timing, or logistics — or take care of the entire project from start to finish. We specialise in outdoor and nature-based events, where our decades of experience in remote and challenging environments give you the confidence that every detail will be handled professionally.
While the business is led by Louise Foulkes and Craig Bycroft, every event is supported by a dedicated team of specialists — from course setters and logistics managers to safety officers and communications experts. This scalable network allows us to deliver projects that are seamless, well-organised, and memorable, whether you’re planning a local community fundraiser or an international endurance race.
About Louise Foulkes
Louise is a pioneer of adventure racing in Australia and an accomplished outdoor event director with extensive international experience. As co-founder of Geocentric Outdoors, she played a leading role in establishing expedition-style racing in Australia and directed two Adventure Racing World Championships, bringing the world’s best athletes to compete on Australian soil.
Her international work included expanding adventure racing into China and Japan, where she collaborated with senior government and tourism officials to open new destinations and showcase remote landscapes to a global audience.
She also set new standards in live tracking and safety systems for remote, multi-day events, ensuring participants and organisers could operate with confidence in challenging environments.
Alongside her event directing, Louise founded the Women’s Mountain Bike Retreats, creating a supportive community that encourages more women to experience the benefits of mountain biking. She is passionate about helping people connect with nature and facilitating personal growth through outdoor adventure. She is pictured here in her element, the outdoors, kayaking unsupported accross Bass Strait.
About Craig Bycroft
Craig is an experienced event director and logistics specialist, known for orchestrating complex operations with precision and creativity. As co-founder of Geocentric Outdoors, he was instrumental in creating iconic races such as GeoQuest and XPD, and later directed the Adventure Racing World Series, overseeing remote international expedition-length events of more than 700 km.
His background as a logistics and adventure training officer in the Australian Army gave him a strong foundation in planning and risk management, which he has applied over two decades of leading endurance and outdoor events.
Craig excels at solving the logistical puzzles of multi-day events, balancing safety, competitor experience, and stakeholder needs. His approach is hands-on and collaborative, working closely with clients, government, and sponsors to build trust and deliver events that inspire, challenge, and bring people together.
