Bribie Island Multisport

(2007 - 2010)

The Bribie Island Multisport was a one-day endurance event that ran from 2007 to 2010, created and directed by Geocentric Outdoors. The event showcased the diverse landscapes of Bribie Island, Pumicestone Passage, and the Glass House Mountains through a spectacular combination of ocean swimming, kayaking, mountain biking, and trail running.

Athletes could choose between a 100 km full course or a 50 km half course, both of which linked ocean beaches, forest trails, and waterways into a true multisport adventure. The full course was divided into nine stages, starting with an ocean swim and coastal run, then traversing the passage by kayak, and continuing through the forests and rocky trails around Wild Horse Mountain. The event concluded with a fast coastal run along the Bribie Island foreshore.

Geocentric Outdoors designed and managed every aspect of the event — from marketing and course design to logistics, safety, and council permissions. The race attracted a wide range of participants, from elite endurance athletes to first-time relay teams, with top competitors finishing the 100 km course in around five hours while the course remained open for 11 hours.

The Bribie Island Multisport embodied Geocentric’s approach to adventure event design — immersive, inclusive, and logistically seamless. Over its four-year history, it became a highlight of Queensland’s multisport calendar and a celebration of the region’s natural beauty and community spirit.
