Teva Adventure Series
(2002 - 2005)
The Teva Adventure Series was created and directed by Geocentric Outdoors in 2002 as one of Australia’s first short-format adventure racing series. Originally launched as the 6 Hour Adventure Series, it was designed to provide a fun, accessible entry point into adventure racing for newcomers, while still challenging experienced competitors.
The events combined trail running, mountain biking, and special team challenges into fast-paced 3–6 hour races held in and around Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, and later Brisbane. Each course highlighted local terrain and included creative, skill-based challenges that added variety and humour to the race experience.
After gaining national popularity, the series partnered with Teva Footwear and was rebranded as the Teva Adventure Series. Over four successful seasons from 2002 to 2005, it grew into Australia’s largest and most recognised sprint adventure racing series, introducing hundreds of new athletes to the sport and setting the standard for short-course adventure racing nationwide.
Geocentric Outdoors managed every aspect of the series — including course design, logistics, safety, marketing, and sponsorship. The Teva Adventure Series remains a landmark in Australian adventure racing, remembered for its energy, inclusiveness, and pioneering role in bringing the sport to a wider audience.
