Adventure Racing World Series - ARWS

(2011 - 2023)

The Adventure Racing World Series (ARWS) unites the world’s premier adventure races under one global structure. From 2011 to 2023, Geocentric Outdoors — led by Directors Craig Bycroft and Louise Foulkes — managed and expanded the series, guiding its growth across six continents and establishing it as the recognised standard for expedition racing worldwide.

Under Geocentric’s leadership, the ARWS grew from its early years into a global circuit of over 60 international events. The team implemented standardised safety, course, and marketing frameworks across diverse regions, ensuring consistency, professionalism, and quality. Key innovations included the introduction of official World Rankings, global rules, and a unified brand identity, supported by a dedicated media program that elevated the series’ visibility.

Geocentric also delivered two Adventure Racing World Championships in Australia, including the landmark 2016 event in the Shoalhaven, NSW, which hosted 90 teams from 21 countries — the largest field in the event’s history. Their work opened new markets in Asia and the Americas, expanded participation, and strengthened the adventure racing community worldwide.

Through more than a decade of direction and innovation, Geocentric Outdoors helped shape the ARWS into a professional, globally connected platform — one that continues to celebrate endurance, teamwork, and the spirit of exploration.
